Japanese Packaging

I want to mention my fetish for packaging and all things Japanese. Is it the clean folds of paper, the juxtoposition of patterns and colours meshed together so refinely, the natural use of organic materials.The simple knots ties and strings that float over the papers that create their own layer of beauty. When I was a young girl I would collect the brown handled bags and paint my own designs on them. I would take just as much delight in buying gifts as creating beautiful packaging with papers and ribbons it had to be a visual feast even before my reciever opened their gift.
